DECISION TAKEN BY THE HON. PRIME MINISTER DR. RALPH GONSALVES TO SHUT DOWN THE COUNTRY ON FRIDAY 2ND JULY, 2021
The National Emergency Council of NEMO met today at 2:30 p.m. to discuss the impending impact of Tropical Storm Elsa. Based on the forecast that the outer bands of the storm is likely to affect St. Vincent and the Grenadines early tomorrow morning, the decision was taken by the Hon. Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves to shut down the country on Friday 2nd July, 2021 out of an abundance of caution. All businesses and schools will close tomorrow and only essential workers will report for work.
The Hon. Prime Minster will address the nation later today.
